DIVA Simulation Game

At Solemma we belief that in today's world - in which resource efficient buildings design is ever-more important - all graduating architects should be able to conduct a basic thermal simulation, understand the results and adapt their designs accordingly. Originally developed at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design (Original Game) and later refined at MIT (Game Revisited), the Simulation Game teach these skills using DIVA/ArchSim. It has since been successfully used in architectural education at Cornell, Harvard, MIT and Rhode Island School of Design (contact us to share your experience and add your school to the list). To play the game you need DIVA 4+, Rhinoceros 5+ and the latest version of Grasshopper installed on a Windows computer. To start, just download the Simulation Game Package that contains the Grasshopper file and the game instructions. Simulation Game Tutorial 01

Student Dashboard In this first video tutorial, Jeff Geisinger explains the "Student Dashboard," or the set of Grasshopper components for students to use in class to apply thermal model settings to their building geometry. The tutorial targets students interested in playing the game.
